Nodeon designed the outdoor lighting for the Isomäki fitness trail in Pori. In the lighting design, the City of Pori placed particular emphasis on the nature values defined in its forest programme.

Because the site is located within an national park area, the colour temperature of the lighting was one of the key design choices. In Finland, outdoor lighting is typically implemented with 3000- or 4000-kelvin light, but for the Pori project a colour temperature of about 2500 K was selected. The warmer light causes less disturbance to wildlife, supports the natural night-time rhythm, and reduces light pollution—without compromising the usability of the lighting.

In addition to colour temperature, the environmental friendliness of lighting design can be improved through smart lighting control, for example by using motion sensors. This makes it possible to further reduce environmental impact and enhance energy efficiency.
