Automation plays a key role in the control and safety systems of tunnels, with very high requirements for reliability.
The role of an automation designer is to ensure that all tunnel software, systems, and equipment work together as a unified whole. This task is also referred to as a system integrator.
Nodeon’s experts have 25 years of experience in tunnel design, automation, data networks, software, and integrations. We have been involved in the design, implementation, and maintenance of all of the country’s major road tunnels.
“I’ve gained experience from numerous tunnel projects over the years, both in Finland and abroad. We’ve created new solutions and upgraded old ones. The project models have included nearly all procurement methods used in Finland, from alliances to life-cycle models. I’ve also become very familiar with different project phases, from preliminary design to implementation and creating guidelines. I’ve certainly worked on over 100 tunnel projects,” says Ilkka Tuunanen, Director at Nodeon.
